Expected Behavior

All conference participants are expected to:

  • Be respectful and considerate in speech and actions
  • Use welcoming and inclusive language
  • Respect different viewpoints and experiences
  • Accept constructive feedback gracefully
  • Focus on what is best for the community
  • Show empathy towards other community members
  • Help create a safe and positive experience for everyone

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered harassment and will not be tolerated:

  • Offensive comments related to gender, race, religion, disability, or physical appearance
  • Sexual language, imagery, or advances
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
  • Harassing photography or recording
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwelcome sexual attention
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all conference spaces, including:

  • Conference venue and all session rooms
  • Networking areas and meal spaces
  • Social events and after-parties
  • Online spaces (social media, chat platforms, etc.)
  • All conference-related communications

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it immediately to:

  • Conference organizers (identifiable by special badges/t-shirts)
  • Email: hello@apiconf.net

All reports will be handled with discretion and confidentiality.

Enforcement

Conference organizers have the right and responsibility to:

  • Remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct
  • Temporarily or permanently ban any participant for behaviors they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful
  • Expel participants from the conference without warning or refund

Consequences

Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including:

  • Warning the participant
  • Expelling the participant from the conference with no refund
  • Banning the participant from future events
  • Reporting to appropriate authorities if warranted

Contact Information

For questions about this Code of Conduct or to report violations:

Conference organizers will be clearly identified at the event and available to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe during the conference.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant and other open source community guidelines. We reserve the right to revise this Code of Conduct at any time.
